Software Co designed and built HealthMate — a comprehensive telehealth platform created to revolutionise healthcare accessibility and delivery across Australia. By connecting Australians with GPs, specialists, nurses, physiotherapists, and dietitians through live video consultations, home and clinic visits, and patient monitoring via smart wearables, HealthMate closes critical gaps in care for remote and underserved communities while giving practitioners more flexibility and a better work-life balance.

The Challenge

Access to healthcare in Australia is uneven — remote and underserved communities often struggle to reach the right practitioner, while clinicians are stretched thin. HealthMate needed to support not just video consultations but a full spectrum of care models (online, home, and clinic visits), verify practitioner credentials against Australian regulatory bodies, and handle complex consultation pricing, invoicing, and claiming — all in one secure, compliant platform.

The Solution

Software Co delivered an end-to-end telehealth ecosystem serving four user types: healthcare professionals, patients, administrators, and a super administrator. Practitioners can build verified profiles, set flexible availability, and offer video consultations, home visits, and clinic visits with configurable pricing and immediate “available now” consultations. Patients can discover and book the right provider, attend secure video consultations, access medical records and prescriptions, and pay seamlessly.

Smart wearable integration brings patient monitoring into the picture, while credential verification against the Australian Medical Council and AHPRA keeps the practitioner network trustworthy.
On the payments side, Software Co built a Tyro Health integration for invoicing and payments, enabling streamlined billing and healthcare claiming.

What We Built

A full telehealth ecosystem across patient, practitioner, and admin experiences:

Technology stack: React.js front end, Node.js back end, React Native mobile apps, and AWS cloud infrastructure.
