Franchise management software is the system a franchisor uses to run its network: onboarding franchisees, tracking agreement and disclosure documents, calculating royalties and fund contributions, and seeing how each location is performing. In Australia, the Franchising Code of Conduct sets duties for franchisors and franchisees. A new Code took effect on 1 April 2025, and all its requirements apply to agreements entered, transferred, renewed or extended from 1 November 2025. The Code applies to the people and businesses in a franchise, not to the software, so software can help you keep records and meet deadlines, while your franchise lawyer confirms what compliance requires.

Software Co builds custom franchise platforms for franchisors in Sydney, Melbourne and across Australia. Most projects start with product planning to map your agreements, fee formulas and franchisee journey, then move to UX/UI design so head office and franchisees each get screens that fit how they work. We build the franchisor portal and back end as custom software, add a franchisee mobile app where one is needed, and connect everything to the POS, accounting and CRM tools you already use. If you also need to manage franchise sales leads and head office operations, see our custom CRM and ERP development. If you’d like to test the idea first, a focused MVP can cover one part of the process, such as royalty reporting or onboarding.

Cost and timing depend on the size of your network and the fee structures involved, so we scope first and set a fixed price after discovery. Every build goes through software testing, and after launch our app maintenance and support keeps it running. A packaged platform charges a licence fee that grows with your network. A custom build has no licence fee from us, but it does have hosting, support and change costs, and we set those out before you commit.

What Does the Franchising Code Mean for Your Franchise Software?

The Franchising Code of Conduct sets duties for franchisors and franchisees, and it changed on 1 April 2025. Software doesn’t carry those duties, but it can make them easier to meet: tracking disclosure documents and deadlines, keeping a record of what was sent and when, and calculating royalties and fund contributions the same way every time.

What we can’t do is make your network compliant. That depends on your agreements, your processes and your franchise lawyer. We build the tools and the records that support them, and we’re happy to work from your lawyer’s checklist.

How Do We Handle Disclosure Tracking, Records and Data Access?

Franchise Disclosure Register Integration

Automated workflows built to assist franchisors in maintaining up-to-date documentation for the Australian Government's Franchise Disclosure Register, ensuring seamless legal compliance.

Statutory Timeline Enforcers

System-enforced cooling-off periods and document delivery tracking that prevent premature contract execution, protecting head office from regulatory non-compliance under the Franchising Code of Conduct.

Australian Data Sovereignty

Multi-tenant cloud infrastructure hosted within secure Australian AWS data centers (Sydney and Melbourne regions), maintaining complete compliance with the Privacy Act 1988 and Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

What Franchise Software Do We Build?

Multi-Unit Operations & Executive Dashboards

Gain complete real-time visibility across your entire network. Our executive dashboards consolidate live performance metrics, unit economics, and regional benchmarks into a single view. Track franchisee operational health, monitor compliance scores, and identify underperforming locations automatically without requesting manual reports.

Automated Royalty & Fee Calculation Engines

Eliminate manual spreadsheets and billing disputes. We build custom calculation engines that compute royalties, marketing fees, and tech contributions directly from point-of-sale data. The system supports fixed, tiered, or percentage fee structures with direct bi-directional syncing to your accounting software.

Automated Disclosure & Code Compliance Tracking

Protect your network with compliance workflows built around the Australian Franchising Code of Conduct. The platform tracks digital disclosure deliveries, enforces statutory 14-day cooling-off countdowns, and logs franchisee sign-offs to create an immutable, inspection-ready audit trail.

Digital Onboarding & Brand Asset Portals

Accelerate new site launches with standardized franchisee onboarding workflows. Our digital portals guide operators through site setups and training modules, while localized brand portals allow franchisees to access approved marketing assets through controlled approval gates.

How Does a Franchise Software Build Work, Step by Step?

01

Discovery & Network Mapping

We map how your specific franchise network operates, royalty structure, reporting requirements, franchisee responsibilities, before recommending what to build.

02

Design

We design for both sides of the relationship, the head office dashboard and the franchisee-facing tools, as one connected system rather than two separate products.

03

Development & Integration

Development includes integration with existing POS, accounting, or CRM systems already in use across your network, scoped early since this is usually central to adoption at the franchisee level.

04

Compliance Review

We review the platform against the reporting and disclosure obligations relevant to your franchise system before launch, not as a separate afterthought.

05

Testing & Launch

We test the full workflow, from a franchisee's daily use through to head office reporting, before rolling out across the network.

06

Post-Launch Support

We stay involved after launch for updates and support as your franchise network grows and onboarding new locations becomes routine.
